I am writing <br />this to inform you that I am highly against this gun range. Not only the fact that firearms <br />will be transported in and out a door just feet away from where I bring my son for safety. <br />Also the fact that shooting these firearms near my child will bring undue risk to his safety. <br />I strongly encourage you to re -consider the location of this gun range! <br />Fact: <br />Air exhaust from an indoor shooting range can threaten third parties. <br />Example: <br />A day care center in Clearwater, Florida, was forced to close and the children were <br />required to have blood test after it was discovered that a neighboring indoor shooting <br />range was venting lead - contaminated air into the centers playground area. Lead levels <br />just outside the ranges exhaust fan were found to be 8000 times higher than the <br />acceptable level set by the Pinellas County's Department of Environmental Management, <br />and those in the soil near the border between the range and the daycare center were <br />about 40 times higher than the acceptable level. This report and many others can be <br />found on www.vpc.org/studies/leadone.htm <br />I am very confident the citizens of the City of Ramsey, MN have elected intelligent, <br />thoughtful and understanding council members. I believe my son's child care facility must <br />have been over looked when the council preliminary gun range location approval passed. <br />You now know that there is a childcare facility next to the proposed gun range. Please <br />reconsider the gun range location. I ask you please do not put my son or all the other <br />children who attend Little Me Childcare in danger of your gun range.
