Motion by Councilmember LeTourneau, seconded by Councilmember Backous, to move to a <br />Closed Session. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Strommen, Councilmembers LeTourneau, Backous, Johns, <br />Kuzma, and Riley. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmember Tossey. <br />The City Council meeting moved into a Closed Session at 7:07 p.m. <br />The City Council reconvened in Work Session at 7:37 p.m. <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated the Council discussed the issue in Closed Session and <br />consensus was reached that it will be reviewed by the Planning Commission at their February 6, <br />2014, meeting. He added a review by the EDA will also be requested with regard to the <br />proposed use. He noted the Schmidtbauer property is not yet owned by the City, so it is difficult <br />to negotiate a purchase price for the combined properties, but the market rate will be pursued on <br />City -owned parcels. <br />Councilmember Riley asked why purchase of the Schmidtbauer property is still ongoing, since <br />the deal was closed in 2012. <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated environmental issues on the site were encountered, and after <br />PCA clearance is obtained, the City can close on the property within 30-60 days. <br />3.
