<br />Councilmember LeTourneau introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #14-01-017 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT <br />WITH ANOKA COUNTY FOR <br />CSAH 5 (NOWTHEN BLVD) / ALPINE DRIVE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS <br />IP 14-20 <br /> <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> Anoka County is proposing improvements to the intersection of CSAH 5 <br />(Nowthen Blvd) / Alpine Drive to improve traffic operations and increase safety; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> CSAH 5 (Nowthen Blvd) is a County State Aid Highway under the <br />jurisdiction of Anoka County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> Alpine Drive is a Municipal State Aid Street under the jurisdiction of the <br />City of Ramsey; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the proposed intersection improvements require improvements to both <br />CSAH 5 (Nowthen Blvd) and Alpine Drive; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the City of Ramsey and Anoka County desire to work cooperatively to <br />construct the proposed improvements; and <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) That the City of Ramsey agrees to allocate $162,836.39 in Municipal State Aid Funds for <br />capital improvements to the intersection of CSAH 5 (Nowthen Blvd) / Alpine Drive, <br />including $136,011.01 for construction costs and $26,825.38 for construction engineering. <br /> <br />2) That the City’s cost allocations are based on Anoka County’s standard cost sharing <br />agreement, including costs related to the installation of a new signal system to replace the <br />existing 4-way intersection STOP controls, and all costs for improvements made to Alpine <br />Drive. <br /> <br />3) That Anoka County will apply available federal funding to reduce the city’s cost share by <br />the amount of $199,306.20. <br /> <br />4) That the attached Joint Powers Agreement for construction of the proposed intersection <br />improvements is hereby approved with the conditions noted above. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
