CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, January 28, <br />2014, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: <br />Mayor Sarah Strommen <br />Councilmember Randy Backous <br />Councilmember Jill Johns <br />Councilmember Mark Kuzma <br />Councilmember John LeTourneau <br />Councilmember Chris Riley <br />Member Absent: Councilmember Jason Tossey <br />Also Present: City Administrator Kurtis Ulrich <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Police Captain Jeff Katers <br />Parks and Assistant Public Works Superintendent Mark Riverblood <br />Public Works Superintendent Grant Riemer <br />Development Services Manager Timothy Gladhill <br />Assistant Planner /Environmental Coordinator Chris Anderson <br />Economic Development Manager Ted LaFrance <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Strommen called the City Council Work Session to order at 5:31 p.m. <br />2. TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br />2.01: Review Current Draft of Housing Assistance Policy and Provide Feedback Prior to <br />Final Draft Form <br />Development Services Manager Gladhill reviewed that the Council authorized the formation of <br />an Ad -Hoc Subcommittee of the Planning Commission to focus on the creation of a Housing <br />Assistance Policy to establish a framework in which to review requests for financial or other <br />form of assistance for housing projects. If approved, it would supplement the City's Business <br />Subsidy Policy but would not create new funding sources or obligate to fund a specific type of <br />housing project. He described the types of requests that could be considered, noting the <br />establishment of a Policy will ensure an equitable and fiscally responsible application to housing <br />assistance. Development Services Manager Gladhill thanked Planning Commissioners Randy <br />Bauer, Joe Field, and Matthew Maul for serving on the Ad -Hoc Subcommittee of the Planning <br />Commission and their work on this project. <br />City Council Work Session / January 28, 2014 <br />Page 1 of 7 <br />
