Member LeTourneau suggested that the County representative be invited to attend the Greater
MSP presentation so they can participate in the conversation.
Economic Development Manager LaFrance advised that the City Council approved the
Statement of Goals for the 167/47 commercial node. He advised that a meeting with the
ownership group is scheduled for January 16 where the Statement of Goals will be presented.
Chairperson Steffen asked if the water tower property is on the list to be marketed.
Assistant to the City Administrator Brama replied in the affirmative, adding that the ownership
group will be asked for input on how the City can move forward with that land.
Economic Development Manager LaFrance reported that a meeting was held on December 12
with Al Pearson and other landowners. He advised that staff also had an excellent conversation
with North Fork and they are interested in working with Mr. Pearson on the northern side of the
property.
Assistant to the City Administrator Brama stated that staff received a lot of direction during this
meeting regarding the residential use in the northern quadrant, adding there is a natural break
created by the wetland area on the Pearson property that would allow residential to the north and
the Business Park in the southern portion. He added that staff will now concentrate on the
Pearson property and working with the Hageman property for the Business Park.
Member Williams asked how the City has involved its new broker partners in this discussion.
She also asked if the former Legacy site has been incorporated into the Business Park.
Economic Development Manager LaFrance replied that the SWOT analysis will determine what
local businesses need in this area, adding that CBRE has not been involved in the Future
Business Park but will be included in future conversations. He advised that the City received an
inquiry from an auto service repair center that was interested in the Amoco site but that site
cannot handle a service garage so staff has proposed other sites along Highway 10 for them to
consider.
6.
