February 4, 2014
Charles Delaney
Armstrong Ranch Kennels
8404 161 Ave NW
Ramsey, MN 55303
Charles Delaney:
7550 Sunwood Drive NW • Ramsey, MN 55303
City Hall: 763 - 427 -1410 • Fax: 763 - 427 -5543
www.cityoframsey.com
Welcome to winter! I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Ted LaFrance and I recently stepped onboard as the
Economic Development Manager with the City of Ramsey.
I'm excited to be here —the strengths and attributes of Ramsey far outweigh our peers. As staff support to our
Economic Development Authority (EDA), I will be working to capitalize on these assets, assist in planning for
future growth, act as a one stop shop for our businesses (questions, tools, etc.) and welcome businesses into our
community.
Our Council's fresh Strategic Plan, entitled A New Day, A New Beginning, directly links the efforts of the EDA to
the needs of our businesses and community. Here is a look into the projects /efforts set forth by the EDA and
Council through A New Day, A New Beginning:
• 167 Ave & Hwy. 47 Business Node: Define goals through community input and work on next steps in
revitalizing the business node
• Old Municipal Center on Nowthen Blvd: Analyze site redevelopment scenarios through community input
• Future Business Park: Identify a location, assess preliminary costs and adjust zoning
• Business Visitation Program: meet with local employers to gather essential feedback to pinpoint
solutions to challenges, create opportunities, develop relationships and strengthen our competitive
position locally and regionally
• Business Expo /Golf Tourney: Mark your calendars and watch for more information! Business Expo is on
4/19/2014 and the Golf Tourney is scheduled for 8/19/14
My door is open. Feel free to call, email or stop by. Thank you for investing in Ramsey.
I look forward to working with you,
Ted
Ted LaFrance
Economic Development Manager
City of Ramsey
tlafrance @ci.ramsey.mn.us
763 - 433 -9830
