Human Resources - Status of Current Recruitments <br />• Patrol Officers (replacements — 1 to replace vacancy from December 10, 2013 and one to <br />bring back staffing levels to 2013 (late 2012 early retirement) <br />o The names of two candidates will be brought forward to the City Council on <br />March 11 th <br />IT Support Technician (Part- time -per strategic plan) <br />o The name of the candidate will be brought forward for City Council approval on <br />March 11 <br />• Paid -on -call Firefighters (replacements) <br />o The names of seven candidates will be brought forward to the City Council on <br />March 11 <br />• Park and Recreation Commission <br />o Two Interviews have been scheduled for the March 11 work - session <br />o Appointments will be authorized by the City Council on March 25th <br />• Community Service Officer (replacement) <br />o The name of the candidate will be brought forward to the City Council on March <br />25 <br />The Incident .. . <br />Council Update <br />• Annual Internships (per strategic plan) <br />o Postings for the following departments: Admin, Community Development, <br />Engineering and the Police Department have been posted. <br />o Interviews will begin on March 12 <br />• Summer Seasonal Workers <br />o Positions have been advertised <br />o Those eligible to return are in the process of being contacted <br />• Administrative Assistant (Part- time -per the strategic plan) <br />o An internal recruitment was conducted; interviews were not held <br />o An external recruitment has been posted; closing March 21S <br />o Interviews tentatively planned for the week of April 7th <br />Fire Department Update. Thursday evening February 27, the Police, Public Works and Fire <br />Departments held a table -top exercise dealing with a train derailment and crude oil fire /explosion. <br />Supervisory members of each department attended. Four teams made up of members from each <br />department were given the incident details and came up with 2 response levels; what needed to <br />happen in the first hour, and what the long -term plan would be. Also expected from the groups <br />was to put the response into an Incident Command System structure. After each response level <br />was completed, the groups reported back to the entire room for discussion. <br />Guests included 2 members of the Lino Lakes Police Department and a representative from the <br />Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
