CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Rarnsey City Council conducted a special meeting on Tuesday, November 20, 1990 at <br />the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard Northwest, Ramsey, <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gary Reimann <br />Councilmember Richard Cich <br />Councilmember Stephen F. DeLuca <br />Councilmember Alan Pearson <br />Councilmember Kenneth Peterson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator David Hartley <br />Finance Officer Sandra Ashley <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann called the special meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. and led in the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann adjourned the special meeting of the City Council at 7:03 p.m. in order to <br />conduct the following public hearing: <br /> <br />Proposed 1991 General Fund Budget and Payable 1991 Property Tax Levy <br /> <br />Mayor Reimann called the regular meeting back to order at 8:43 p.m. after a recess. <br /> <br />COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case 8, I; Proposed 1991 General Fund Budget and P~.'flbl¢ I991 <br /> Property~Tax Levv. <br /> <br />City Administrator David Hartley stated that it would be most appropriate to adopt the <br />resolution setting the Payable 1991 Property Tax Levy first and then the resolution setting <br />the 1991 General Fund Budget as one is contingent upon the other. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Peterson and seconded by Mayor Reimann to adopt Resolution <br />---~0-11-330 setting the Payable 1991 Property Tax Levy. <br /> <br />Further discussion. Councilmember Pearson asked what would happen if City Council did <br />not pass the resolution. Mr. Ha_riley stated that it would result in not levying for taxes and <br />would reduce the revenue by approximately $1,051,000. Therefore, the City would not be <br />able to make any purchases, we would lose two thirds or more of staff, we would not be <br /> <br />City Council / November 20, 1990 <br /> Page I of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
