Council Member introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION # 2014-03-058 <br />RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AN M.O.U. FOR UNIFORM STIPENDS WITH LELS AND <br />AFSCME AND TO APPROVE A NON -UNION UNIFORM STIPEND <br />WHEREAS, the City's current practices related to how certain employee uniforms are <br />purchased are outside of Internal Revenue Service guidelines; and <br />WHEREAS, the Finance Depaitinent and Human Resources have determined that it is <br />necessary to revise the City's practices related to some uniform purchases; and <br />WHEREAS, the City negotiated with LELS-Patrol, LELS-Sergeants, and the AFSCME <br />group to come to an agreement based on an unaccountable plan; and <br />WHEREAS, staff recommends authorizing the LELS-Patrol, LELS-Sergeants, and AFSCME <br />Uniform M.O.U.; as well as authorizing the same stipend amounts for applicable non -union staff in <br />Public Works and the Police Department; and <br />WHEREAS, the LELS Patrol and LELS Sergeants uniform allowance for 2014 will be <br />$140.00, and will be paid on the second payroll in March; and <br />WHEREAS, the AFSCME uniform allowance for the Crime Prevention Specialist and the <br />Community Service Officer will be $140.00 and will be paid on the second payroll in <br />March; and <br />WHEREAS, the AFSCME uniform allowance for the Police Technicians will be $80.00 <br />and will be paid on the second payroll in March; and <br />WHEREAS, the AFSCME uniform allowance for the Public Works Maintenance staff will <br />be $525.00; the same amount as stated in the 2013-2014 labor agreement or $150.00 for members <br />utilizing the City's uniform service, and therefore only requiring the purchase of boots and will be <br />paid on the second payroll in March. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br />Motion to approve resolution #14-03-058 authorizing the LELS-Patrol, LELS-Sergeants, and <br />AFSCME Uniform M.O.U. as described above; as well as authorizing the same stipend <br />amounts for applicable non -union staff in Public Works and the Police Department. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member, <br />, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />
