2015
Project Title:
Location:
Contact:
Cost:
Description:
Project Title:
Location:
Contact:
Cost:
Description:
Project Title:
Location:
Contact:
Cost:
Description:
!lbw!rur -
; l-i*A till: MN
4
Mississippi Skyway, Part 2
Ramsey (Ramsey emerging node)
Mark Riverblood, City of Ramsey
$2,400,000 total (requesting $240,000)
The Mississippi Skyway will be the northern -most nexus of alternative transportation in
the MISS, connecting Metro Transit's Northstar Commuter Rail and bus service in
Ramsey to the MRT in Mississippi West Regional Park, both on the other side of US
Highway 10 and 169. The 210-foot foot Skyway will be a covered structure at either 10-
or 12-foot interior width. It will directly connect to the future MRT extension, to be
completed in 2014. The ideal timing for construction of the Skyway is 2016, but funding
would need to be in place by 2015. The Skyway funding match would be from the
Cooperative Agreement identified as Phase 5 of the Metropolitan Council's approval for
the above named Regional Park. This project, once completed would establish Ramsey
as a fully-fledged ATS Node by providing a safe crossing over the highway to the MISS.
MRT in Mississippi West Regional Park
Ramsey (Ramsey emerging node)
Karen Blaska, Anoka County Parks
$650,000 (requesting $100,000)
This project would construct a 5,900-foot long, 10-foot wide paved trail to serve as an
extension of the MRT. This will provide access to Mississippi West Regional Park, the
MISS, and the River where none exists currently. The project is less than .5 miles from
the Ramsey Northstar Station, which provides additional ways to access the MISS
without a car. The ideal implementation year would be 2015 to correspond to the 2014
planned construction of the MRT in the Cities of Anoka and Ramsey and the 2016/2017
construction of the MRT to the City of Elk River. The local match would be provided
through a Parks and Trails Legacy appropriation to Anoka County. The County would
partner with the MISS for input on this project through the planning and construction
stages, particularly on the signs and wayfinding materials, for the project.
ATS Implementation Support
Various
Ben Rasmussen, Volpe Center
$32,500
Volpe's work during this time would focus on:
January 29, 2014 — Page 5
