CASE #2

APPLICATIONS FOR THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
By: Jim Gromberg, Project Manager

Background:

There are two vacancies on the City of Ramsey Economic Development Commission, both terms
have expiration dates of January 31, 1992. An advertisement was placed in the Ramsey Resident
Newsletter soliciting letters of application to fill the vacancy on the Commission. A letter of
application was received by Steve Marn.

Observations:

Mr. Marn's letter of application is enclosed for your review. He has been notified by telephone
requesting his presence at the June 12, 1991 meeting at 7:30 a.m. to meet with members of the
Economic Development Commission. Mr. Marn is not presently serving on another board or
commission for the City of Ramsey.

The applications for the EDC do not close until June 14, 1991. The Commission will not be able
to recommend to Council before that date. However, they may make a conditional
recommendation if no more than one additional application is received.

Commission Action:

Motion to recommend/not recommend to the City Council appointment of Steve Marn to the
Economic Development Commission to a term expiring on January 31, 1992, if no more than one
additional application is received for the Economic Development Commission.

Reviewed By:

City Administrator
Personnel Coordinator
Project Manager

EDC: 06/12/91
