Existing Definitions <br />Equipment, commercial use, means a variety of heavy machines, either specifically designed or used for <br />commercial purposes, which perform specific construction or demolition functions, such as hoisting, <br />excavating, hauling, grading, paving, drilling, or pile driving, under power. Trailers, either enclosed or <br />flatbed, 6x12 or smaller are exempt unless they have a Department of Transportation Certificate or <br />number; trailers used for transport of recreational vehicles and not used for any commercial use are <br />exempt. <br />A licensed, self-propelled vehicle which: <br />(1) Has a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) OF 10,001 pounds or more and contains print or logos <br />which advertise a business; or <br />(2) Has external modifications to the structure or body, where external modifications are defined as <br />both dealer and non -dealer modifications which result in pick-up trucks that do not have the <br />traditional pick-up truck bed and side walls, and vans that have an expanded cargo area that is <br />taller or wider than a passenger van, except those modified for use as either a recreational <br />vehicle or to accommodate handicapped passengers and which are currently being utilized for <br />this purpose. Motorized vehicles that have racks, storage boxes, or shells added to the <br />traditional pick-up bed are exempt from this definition. <br />Home occupation means any business or commercial activity that is conducted or petitioned to be <br />conducted from the principal or an accessory structure on the property that is zoned for residential use, <br />by persons residing on the property. <br />Motor vehicle, commercial use, means any device designed to be self-propelled that is eligible for legal <br />operation on the public roads and highways and whose primary use is to facilitate the generation of <br />revenue. This shall not include standard passenger automobiles, pick-up trucks and vans displaying <br />company logos and/or advertisements. <br />Screening means a method of reducing the impact of noise and visual intrusions with less offensive or <br />more harmonious elements, such as plants, berms, fences or any appropriate combination thereof. <br />(1) 75-percent screening: Screening would be required on all common lot lines at 100 percent, <br />excluding from along roadway, except on a corner lot, in which case the secondary frontage <br />would still require screening. This means, screening is required on three sides of the vehicle at <br />100 percent. <br />(2) 50-percent screening: Screening would be required on lot lines adjoining subject property along <br />the length of the vehicle/equipment at 100 percent. This means screening is required on at least <br />two sides of the vehicle at 100 percent. <br />
