6) <br />?) <br />8) <br />9) <br /> 1o) <br /> <br />City Council regular meeting minutes dated June 11, 1991. <br />City Council regular meeting minutes dated June 25, 1991. <br />City Council public hearing minutes dated Juls, 9, 1991. <br />City Council regular meeting minutes dated Jul:), 9, 1991. <br />City Council regular meeting minutes dated Jul:), 23, 1991. <br /> <br />COMMISSION INPUT <br /> <br />Commissioner Fuhs stated that cable reception of the City Council meetings is still a problem <br /> <br />Mr. Gromberg stated that he will contact Mark Lundeen of QCTV. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Presentation bv Pete Turok: Possible Development of an Arm of the <br />Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce for the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Pete Turok from the Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce was in attendance to answer any <br />questions the Commission had regarding a Ramsey arm of the Anoka Area Chamber of <br />Commerce. There would be one meeting for then entire Chamber. The board would oversee such <br />events as Business Appreciation Day and the Ramsey Business EXPO. The Chamber would <br />provide meeting notifications, staffing and bank account in order to track costs. Also discussed <br />were membership fees, meeting costs, local identity of businesses, Game Fair advertising, setting <br />up with Board, own group meeting. The investment costs are low. Forty Ramsey businesses are <br />already members of the Chamber of 430 members. Meetings are scheduled for lunch time, a <br />morning City location for meeting needs to be coordinated with the Economic Development <br />Commission. The Chamber would be able to help direct the increase in identity. Things to be <br />done include setting a goal for the group. <br /> <br />Chairman Wagner asked how to go about developing a wing of the Chamber. <br /> <br />Mr. Turok stated that a questionnaire could be sent to all businesses in the City and then look at the <br />final details. <br /> <br />Case #5: Business Appreciation Da.,,' and Golf Outing. <br /> <br />Fr/day, September 13, 1991 is available at Rum River Hills Golf Course. The Chamber newsletter <br />ma:), be used for advertising. Commissioner Fults will be the Committee Chairman, and Bob <br />Muller will be assisting Commissioner Fults with this project. The tentative schedule is as follows: <br />12:00 noon Tee Off, 5:00 p.m. Dinner and Program, 6:30 Conclusion. <br /> <br />Checks for payment will be run through the Anoka Area Chamber of Commerce. Costs will be <br />kept as low as possible to achieve good participation. <br /> <br />Case #2: Update on the Ramsey Business EXPO. <br /> <br />Commissioner Nelson stated that there is a committee of 12 working on the EXPO. There will be <br />something for everyone there. The attendance goal is 1,500 people. There will be a fire exhibit. <br />To date, there are 1,4 businesses that have reserved booths. Banners have been donated. The <br />subcommittee will be meeting on Thursday, August 15, ]991 to work on contacting people. <br />Approximately 65 businesses expressed an interest in the EXPO on a recent survey. <br /> <br />Economic Development Commission / August 14, 1991 <br /> Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
