MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT 1) McKinley Street Extension - or Not Mr. Schroeder stated that one of the issues that may be discussed at the joint meeting with the City of Anoka would be the McKinley Street extension. He questioned whether this extension makes sense when there may be other uses for funds and other properties readily accessible to sewer and water within the industrial area north Highway #10 and south of the landfill. He added that he had spoken with Mr. Tom Sauter, owner of the 37 acre parcel at the northeast intersection of County Road #116 and Sunfish Lake Boulevard and he is a "willing seller". Mr. Schroeder requested authorization to spend the dollars necessary to get an appraisal for the property. He felt he could get the 37 acre parcel appraised for under $1,000. He feels that since Anoka doesn't view the McKinley Street Project as a high priority, the purchase of this near 40 acre parcel could be a much better buy. Mr. Goodrich suggested getting an appraisal on the McKinley Street property at the same time and compare it with the other appraisal. Motion by Councilmember Beyer and seconded by Councilmember Cich to approve pursuing an appraisal on the Sauter property for a not-to-exceed amount of $2,000, and an appraisal on'the McKinley Street property at the City Administrator's discretion. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gilbertson, Councilmembers Beyer, Cich and Hardin. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberPeterson.
