CASE ADOPT ORDINANCE TO REZONE THE HOLASEK/HAMILTON PARCEL SOUTH OF RIVERDALE DRIVE N.W. FROM B-3 HIGHWAY BUSINESS TO R-1 RESIDENTIAL By: Patrick Trudgeon, AICP Assistant Community Development Director Background: On July 22, 2003, the City Council introduced an ordinance to rezone the Hamilton/I-Iolasek parcel south of Riverdale, west of Sunfish Lake Blvd. from B-3 Highway Business to R-1 Residential, in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan. The following items are included for your information: a) b) c) d) e) Site Location Map City Council Meeting Minutes dated August 26, 2003 City Council Work Session Minutes dated October 7, 2003 Letter from Mr. and Mrs. Holasek and Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton dated December 6, 2003 Proposed Ordinance Observations: On August 12, City Staff presented the ordinance for adoption. City Council tabled action on the ordinance until the August 26th Council meeting to allow the property owners more time to meet with Councilmembers regarding the future land use of this property. At the August 26th meeting, the City Council tabled the matter to a future work session for further discussion. At the October 7th work sessiou, the Council gave direction to Staff to bring forward the ordinance to rezone the Holasek/Hamilton property from B-3 Highway Business to R-1 Residential. Recommendations: In accordance with Council's direction, the ordinance is being presented for consideration. City Staff recommends adoption of the enclosed ordinance at this time, in accordance with the Comprehensive Plan.
