Dear Resident:

The purpose of this letter is to inform you of an opportunity to receive payment for
voluntary land preservation alOng Trott Brook. This year the City of Ramsey was
awarded $500,000 dollars from the Legislative Commission on Minnesota Resources
(LCMR) to acquire trail and/or conservation easements in the vicinity of Trott Brook.
The Legislature has allocated these funds in recognition of the importance of protecting
open space, and because the significance of the natural areas around the brook.

Again, it is important to understand this is a voluntary opportunity. No other contact from
the City is intended to follow this letter. If you are interested in protecting these
ecological important areas, and receiving compensation for it; please read the enclosed
material and contact myself at the numbers below.

The payment to the landowner will cover most expenses, including surveying, junk
removal, legal work and recording fees. There should be no costs to you, and your
property taxes may go down!

As indicated, this may be a once in a lifetime chance to receive payment for protecting
the natural environment you care about - however, it is on a first come, first served basis.
For more information, please call me at 763-427-8254 or 763- 286- 0833 during business
hours.

Sincerely,

Mark Riverblood,
Parks & Utilities Supervisor

Enclosures
