Staff brought forward an amendment this past spring to change the property's
zoning from business to residential to conform to the approved Comprehensive Plan. Property
owners of the affected parcels raised concerns regarding having the land designation changed
solely to residential. After several City Council work sessions and discussions with the Planning
Commission, City Staff is bringing forth a Comprehensive Plan Amendment to change the land
use from Low Density Residential to Mixed Use, which would allow for a mixture of residential
and commercial uses. The MU-PUD District requires a minimum of 70% of the area be used for
residential uses. Staffhas provided a copy of the recently adopted MU-PUD zoning district. All
development in this zoning district needs to be processed as Planned Unit Developments.
