Mr. Beech explained he would be following the BATF requirements, along with the Federal requirements on how to store the firearms on his property. City Planner Anderson indicated the Home Occupation Permit does have a condition for approval stating all firearms on subject property will be stored in a locked gun cabinet or as directed by the BATF. Commissioner Bauer asked if the site would be inspected to ensure that the firearms were being stored properly. Mr. Beech referred the Commission to Condition #17, which states the premises could be inspected by the City. City Planner Anderson stated this was a standard condition and would allow the City to retain the right to inspect the property to ensure it remained in compliance.
