Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commisioners Van Scoy, Brauer, Johnson,
Reeve, Shepherd, and Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: None.

Commission Input

Chairperson Nixt indicated that he supports Staff's recommendation to deny as the tenant has
admitted it is not just storage space, but they are running a business from the property, which is
not appropriate for the area.

Chairperson Nixt stated Mr. Bauer was operating a non-conforming use business.

Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Brauer to recommend City Council
adopt Findings of Fact with variables favorable to denial of applicant's request for an interim use
permit to allow for commercial outside storage on a residentially zoned parcel.

Commissioner Bauer recommended changes to the Resolution, indicating paragraphs 12 through
18 should read 'will', and noting that paragraph 11 is missing.

Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Brauer, Johnson, Reeve,
Shepherd, Van Scoy and Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: None.

Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Reeve to recommend City Council
adopt a Resolution denying the Interim Use Permit.

Commissioner Johnson commented to Mr. Bauer that where his tax statement reflects
commercial, it is trying to reflect the 40 acres used for the Gun Club, but does not represent
zoning for the Planning Commission. He indicated in the minds of most residents in the area, the
Gun Club was there for a long time, but to add additional businesses, that is not what they moved
into. He indicated it is a problem to add additional businesses in a residential area. He stated the
Gun Club was okay because it is a grandfathered non-conforming use. He indicated for these
reasons he has to support the denial.

Motion CmTied. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Reeve, Brauer, Johnson,
Shepherd, Van Scoy and Watson. Voting No: None.
