Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #14-04-069 RESOLUTION APPOINTING IT COORDINATOR JASON FREDRICKSON AS DIRECTOR AND ASSISTANT TO THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR PATRICK BRAMA AS ALTERNATE DIRECTOR TO THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS (LOGIS) BOARD WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is a member of the Joint Powers Agreement with the Local Government Information Systems (LOGIS); and WHEREAS, each member City is entitled to one director and one alternate director to serve on the LOGIS Board; and WHEREAS, the last formal appointment by resolution to the LOGIS Board was made in 1987 when the City's Council appointed the then City Administrator as Director and the Finance Officer as Alternate Director; and WHEREAS, in the most recent past, the former IT Manager Dean Busch served as Director and former Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson served as Alternate Director; and WHEREAS, the majority of member cities appoint their IT Managers, Finance Directors or City Managers/Administrators to the role of Director and Alternate Director; and WHEREAS, the Director, and in the absence of the Director, the Alternate Director, has one vote and would have the authority to approve the yearly LOGIS budgets, and other services, contracts, and assessments; and WHEREAS, IT Coordinator Jason Fredrickson is part of the City's Finance staff, attends all LOGIS IT meetings and would be able to attend the Board meetings if appointed Director; and WHEREAS, Assistant to the City Administrator Patrick Brama, would serve as the Alternate Director if appointed. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA; as follows: 1) That the City Council hereby appoints IT Coordinator Fredrickson as Director and Assistant to the City Administrator Brama as Alternate Director to represent the City of Ramsey on the Local Government Information Systems (LOGIS) Board. 2) That the City Clerk shall notify LOGIS in writing of the appointments of Director and Alternate Director. 3) That the appointment of Director and Alternate Director will be placed on the annual Council Organization Resolution beginning with year 2015.
