City Improvement Project Updates • 2014 Street Maintenance Program (SMP) - o This proposed project includes various pavement maintenance projects on roughly 14 miles of city streets. o Plans and specifications are out for bids. o Bids to be opened on April 18 o Council to consider awarding a contract on April 22n • Riverdale Drive Extension and Reconstruction - o This proposed project includes reconstructing Riverdale Drive between Armstrong Boulevard and the cul -de -sac east of Alpaca Street, and extending Riverdale Drive to Traprock Street. o The City Council will likely consider approving plans and authorizing bids for this project in late May. o If the City Council approves the project, construction would likely begin in early July and be completed in 2014. • Armstrong Boulevard Trail Extension - o This approved project includes construction of a 10 -foot wide bituminous trail within the right -of -way on the west side of Armstrong Boulevard (CSAH 83) between Alpine Drive and 161' Avenue. o Tree removal operations are currently underway. o Construction will be completed before the end of June. Anoka County Road Construction Project Updates • CSAH 5 (Nowthen Blvd) & Alpine Drive Intersection Improvements - o This project proposes to signalize the intersection of CSAH 5 (Nowthen Blvd) & Alpine Drive and add dedicated turn lanes to CSAH 5 and Alpine Drive, as well as lower the grade on the north end of old CR 5. o Right -of -way and easement acquisitions are underway. o Construction is anticipated to begin in early September and be completed in 2014. • Ramsey Boulevard Overlay - o This project includes a pavement overlay on the segment of Ramsey Boulevard between Bunker Lake Boulevard and Nowthen Boulevard in 2014. The exact timing of this project has not yet been determined. • Green Valley Road Overlay (TENTATIVE) - o This tentative project includes a pavement overlay of Green Valley Road (CR 63) between Nowthen Boulevard and TH 47 in 2014, pending available funding. Spring is here...for most of our departments. The Utilities Department is in full swing with water main flushing. So far they have come across 3 partially frozen and 1 completely frozen fire hydrants. The completely frozen hydrant was marked as out of service. We still have one business and one residence hooked up to temporary services. The Street Department is sweeping roads and filling potholes.
