patch potholes on County roads, but if you know of a pothole on a County Road that needs to be <br />repaired, or if you'd like to learn more about how potholes form, please visit Anoka County's <br />website at www.anokacounty.us. <br />City Improvement Project Updates <br />• 2014 Street Maintenance Program (SMP) - <br />o This proposed project includes various pavement maintenance projects on roughly <br />14 miles of city streets. <br />o Plans and specifications are out for bids. <br />o Bids to be opened on April 18 <br />o Council to consider awarding a contract on April 22n <br />• Riverdale Drive Extension and Reconstruction - <br />o This proposed project includes reconstructing Riverdale Drive between Armstrong <br />Boulevard and the cul -de -sac east of Alpaca Street, and extending Riverdale Drive <br />to Traprock Street. <br />o The City Council will likely consider approving plans and authorizing bids for this <br />project in late May. <br />o If the City Council approves the project, construction would likely begin in early <br />July and be completed in 2014. <br />• Armstrong Boulevard Trail Extension - <br />o This approved project includes construction of a 10 -foot wide bituminous trail <br />within the right -of -way on the west side of Armstrong Boulevard (CSAH 83) <br />between Alpine Drive and 161' Avenue. <br />o Tree removal operations are currently underway. <br />o Construction will be completed before the end of June. <br />Anoka County Road Construction Project Updates <br />• CSAH 5 (Nowthen Blvd) & Alpine Drive Intersection Improvements - <br />o This project proposes to signalize the intersection of CSAH 5 (Nowthen Blvd) & <br />Alpine Drive and add dedicated turn lanes to CSAH 5 and Alpine Drive, as well as <br />lower the grade on the north end of old CR 5. <br />o Right -of -way and easement acquisitions are underway. <br />o Construction is anticipated to begin in early September and be completed in 2014. <br />• Ramsey Boulevard Overlay - <br />o This project includes a pavement overlay on the segment of Ramsey Boulevard <br />between Bunker Lake Boulevard and Nowthen Boulevard in 2014. The exact <br />timing of this project has not yet been determined. <br />• Green Valley Road Overlay (TENTATIVE) - <br />o This tentative project includes a pavement overlay of Green Valley Road (CR 63) <br />between Nowthen Boulevard and TH 47 in 2014, pending available funding. <br />Spring is here...for most of our departments. The Utilities Department is in full swing with <br />water main flushing. So far they have come across 3 partially frozen and 1 completely frozen fire <br />hydrants. The completely frozen hydrant was marked as out of service. We still have one business <br />and one residence hooked up to temporary services. The Street Department is sweeping roads and <br />filling potholes.
