Charter Commission (6:30 p.m. — CC) <br />• Review Draft Ordinance Proposing an Amendment to the City's Charter <br />• Approve Summary Letter to the Judge <br />Council Update <br />April Strom. Officers responded to numerous vehicles in the ditch during and after the snow <br />storm. A loaded school bus was one of the vehicles that found the ditch, luckily there were no <br />injuries. An Allina ambulance was unable to get to residence for a medical because of the snow. <br />Ramsey Rescue had to transport the ill person to the ambulance for transport to the hospital. <br />Fire Department. <br />• Mutual Aid to Oak Grove April 10. Outside of garage on fire <br />• Vehicle PI at Sunwood and Hwy 5. 2 transported <br />• Mutual Aid to Andover for grass fire April 15 <br />• Assist with elderly patient in snow storm April 17, 2014 <br />• DNR spring burning restrictions began Monday April 14 <br />Recruitment Updates: <br />• Interns: The annual intern recruitments are complete. <br />• PW Seasonals: Those eligible to return have been contacted, backgrounds have been <br />checked, and pre - employment drug screens have been scheduled. New seasonals are being <br />interviewed this week. <br />• PT Administrative Assistant: Staff received 127 applications, staff conducted 16 first <br />interviews and 4 second interviews. A finalist was contacted and she will be going through <br />the City's backgrounding process, followed by a case on May 13 requesting authorization <br />to hire. <br />• Leave of absence: An employee in the Engineering Division is out on a leave of absence; <br />her position is being covered by an intern/temporary employee. <br />Board and Commission Survey: Staff will be sending a survey to the current board and <br />commission members in an attempt to receive feedback regarding the continued or discontinued <br />issuance of stipends. The survey results will be shared with the City Council at an upcoming <br />work - session. <br />Public Works. Not very often do we get the opportunity to sweep streets in the morning and plow <br />them in the afternoon. Ramsey received approximately 12 inches of snow on Wednesday, April <br />17t Crews were out at 2:00 am clearing the streets. We hope this is the end, but no guarantees. <br />The street sweeping contractor was to start on April 18 but will be delayed due to the snow. The <br />pothole patching contractor will start on April 22n and will be done approximately April 25 <br />Work has begun on the Armstrong to 161' trail. Utilities crews are still flushing water mains — <br />they were delayed by the snow as well. They should be wrapping up by the end of next week. <br />Field maintenance was to begin Thursday, but with a foot of snow that will have to wait.
