<br /> <br /> <br />Combined central office staff in one location providing greater efficiency for staff and <br />saving mileage and operating costs; <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Provided leadership for implementation of large-scale cultural competency training for <br />teams of leaders in all schools and central departments; <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Inspired students and helped raise money for students in need by performing along with <br />staff and students in the annual Symphonic Rock concert at Anoka High School; <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, <br />in addition to his direct school leadership, Dennis Carlson has served as a <br />director and leader of the Minnesota Community Education Association, the National Council of <br />State Community Education Associations, the National Community Education Association, the <br />Minnesota Association of School Administrators, Schools for Equity in Education, and the <br />Minnesota School Public Relations Association; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the contributions of Dennis Carlson have been recognized with numerous <br />awards including the President’s Award, Director of the Year award, and Lifetime Achievement <br />award from the Minnesota Community Education Association. He also earned the National <br />Community Education Association’s Special Service Award and Outstanding Contribution to <br />State Legislation Award; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> Dennis Carlson also contributes time and energy to the Metro North <br />Chamber of Commerce, the Anoka-Ramsey Community College Advisory Council, and the Coon <br />Rapids Rotary. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA; as follows: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1)That the City of Ramsey hereby recognizes and applauds the significant contributions <br />of Dennis Carlson in a lifetime of service to the children of the Anoka-Hennepin School <br />District, and the education of the children of the City of Ramsey, Minnesota, and the <br />impact he has made on lifelong learning. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Kuzma, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Strommen <br /> Councilmember LeTourneau <br /> Councilmember Kuzma <br /> Councilmember Backous <br /> Councilmember Johns <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> Councilmember Tossey <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Resolution #14-04-071 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br /> <br />
