PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Ramsey Park and Recreation Commission conducted a special meeting on August 19, 2003,
at Ramsey City Hall, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota.

Commission Members Present:

Chairperson Jill Johns
Commissioner Mark Lehman
Commissioner Jon Olds
Commissioner Steve Ostrum
Commissioner Melody Shryock

Members Absent:

Commissioner Tom LaMere
Commissioner Michael Rolfe

Also Present:

Parks/Utilities Supervisor Mark Riverblood
Parks Seasonal Employee Dan Pfeiffer

CALL TO ORDER

Chairperson Johns called the special Park and Recreation Commission meeting to order at 6:02
p.m.

CITIZEN INPUT

None.

COMMISSION BUSINESS

Case #1: Town Center Project

Park/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood indicated the Commission needs to prioritize the plans for
the parks in the Town Center Project. They need to receive information regarding the costs
associated with the improvements that are being discussed in order to do this. City staffand the
Community Development Department are working on a Developers Agreement. At this point
the Commission is recommending that park and trail dedications be satisfied by cash, which is
what the Council granted Preliminary Plat approval on. As there is no land dedication at this
point, several million dollars are conceivably the table.

Deborah Bartels, representative of Close Landscape Architecture, explained she does not have
any information regarding the associated costs of proposed park improvements tonight.

Park and Recreation Commission/August 19, 2003
Page 1 of 10
