Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #14-05-081 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING QUOTES AND AUTHORIZING AWARD OF <br />CONTRACT FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 14-21; ALPINE DRIVE QUIET ZONE <br />IMPROVEMENTS <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the making of quiet zone improvements to Alpine Drive at the <br />BNSF railroad crossing in 2010 including the construction of concrete median islands and other <br />necessary appurtenant work; and <br />WHEREAS, following completion of the 2010 Alpine Drive quiet zone improvements <br />the Federal Railroad Administration inspected the improvements and found them to be <br />insufficient for allowing the Alpine Drive railroad crossing to become a quiet zone; and <br />WHEREAS, new plans were prepared for extending the Alpine Drive raised median <br />islands to allow the railroad crossing to comply with the Federal Railroad Adminstration's <br />current requirements for quiet zone improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, the new plans were submitted to three contractors for the purpose of <br />obtaining quotes for completing the required quiet zone improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, the quotes submitted by the three contractors were opened and tabulated on <br />April 25, 2014, and the following quotes were found to comply with the request for quotes; and <br />CONTRACTOR QUOTE <br />Landmark Concrete, Inc. $4,500.00 <br />Reshetar Systems $16,490.00 <br />Ron Kassa Construction, Inc. $6,500.00 <br />WHEREAS, the quote of Landmark Concrete, Inc. of East Bethel, Minnesota in the <br />amount of $4,500.00 for the total quote for the construction of said improvements in accordance <br />with the prepared plans and specifications is the lowest responsible quote and their quote shall be <br />and hereby is accepted. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br />The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with Landmark Concrete, Inc. for the construction of said improvements for and <br />on behalf of the City of Ramsey. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />RESOLUTION #14-05-081 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
