COMMISSION /STAFF INPUT Parks & Assistant Public Works Superintendent Riverblood stated the number of patrons at the skating rink facilities reflect the very cold weather. The final numbers reflected 2,835 people at the Ramsey Elementary warming house, and 2,624 at Central Park for a total of 5,459 rink patrons counted. Riverblood added that last year the total was 5,953. He added that sliding hill use at Alpine Park however, was very popular, perhaps due to the frequent snow. Parks & Assistant Public Works Superintendent Riverblood informed the Commission that the Mississippi Skyway design project was approved by City Council on Tuesday evening, and there will be a lot of activity associated with this, and that the project must be complete by December of 2014. Parks & Assistant Public Works Superintendent Riverblood briefed the Commission on the Elmcrest Park community building project. Chairperson Olsen asked if the cold winter delayed the start, and Riverblood replied in the affirmative. On the Central Park to Alpine Drive Trail, Riverblood informed the Commission he thought the tree clearing would begin next week, and the entire trail should be available for use in May of 2014. 7. ADJOURNMENT Motion by Commissioner Mobry, seconded by Commissioner Fyten, to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Olsen, Commissioners Mobry, Fyten, and Chubb.
