<br />Councilmember LeTourneau introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #14-04-080 <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING APRIL 26, 2014 AS AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY <br />BARK FOR LIFE DAY IN THE CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br /> Bark For Life is an American Cancer Society fundraising event that honors <br />the care-giving qualities of canine companions and supports the American Cancer Society mission <br />of saving lives and creating a world with less cancer and more birthdays – by helping people stay <br />well, by helping people get well, by finding cures for cancer and by fighting back; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />money raised during Bark for Life supports the American Cancer Society’s <br />live-saving mission; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />the last two events (Bark for Life in the City of Ramsey) have collectively <br />raised over $18,000 for cancer research. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA; as follows: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1)That the City Council of the City of Ramsey hereby proclaims Saturday, April 26, 2014, <br />as “Bark For Life Day” in the City of Ramsey and encourages citizens to help finish <br />the fight against cancer by participating in the Bark For Life event at The Draw Park <br />located within The COR on Saturday, April 26, 2014. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Kuzma, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Strommen <br /> Councilmember LeTourneau <br /> Councilmember Kuzma <br /> Councilmember Backous <br /> Councilmember Johns <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> Councilmember Tossey <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br />
