City of Ramsey 2030 Comprehensive Plan Update <br />Chapter 11: The Mississippi River Corridor Critical Area <br />c) Floodplain Management Act and Ordinance <br />The Floodplain Management Act was passed in 1969 as a tool to minimize <br />damages due to flooding. Using standards established by the DNR, the City put in <br />place a floodplain ordinance that regulates development within floodplain areas. <br />Maps prepared by the Federal Insurance Administration in 1979 and revised by <br />the DNR in 1987 delineate floodplain areas. <br />City of Ramsey 2030 Comprehensive Plan Page 11-8 <br />
