Suspicious Vehicle. Officers received a call of a suspicious vehicle parked in the caller's driveway
with its four way flashers on. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle and ran the
registration. The vehicle listed to the caller. Officers left. Anybody home McFly?
No Grant Application. The police department has decided not to submit a grant application for
a Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) officer. After reviewing the grant application, it
was learned that the grant did not cover all the wages of a new officer as grants such as this had in
the past. There were several other areas of concern with the new grant that would have made it
difficult for Ramsey to participate.
There's No Place Like Home. Captain Katers is nearing the end of his eleven week leadership
training program at the FBI National Academy in Quantico, VA. As part of the training, Jeff
completed the grueling 6.1 fitness run known as the Yellow Brick Road on Thursday. The
challenge consists of a run through a hilly, wooded trail built by the Marines. Along the way, the
participants must climb over walls, run through creeks, jump through simulated windows, scale
rock faces with ropes, crawl under barbed wire in muddy water and climb a cargo net. For
completing the course, Jeff received the coveted Yellow Brick. His academic finals are next week.
