Councilmember LeTourneau introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #13 -08 -133 RESOLUTION TO CONTINUE EFFORTS TOWARDS A SHARED FIRE SERVICE WHEREAS, the Shared Fire Service Study Group, known as the Rum River Regional Fire Study Group, which includes the cities of Bethel, Nowthen, Ramsey, and St Francis has held scheduled meetings on a regular basis since October of 2011; and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey had the following members participate in the Shared Fire Service Study Group; Mayor Strommen, Fire Chief Dean Kapler, City Administrator Kurt Ulrich, and Firefighter Shane Swedeen; and WHEREAS, the Shared Fire Service Study Group presented a committee report to all communities involved on April 12, 2012 in Ramsey, MN; and WHEREAS, all cities mutually adopted a resolution to continue efforts towards a shared fire service and WHEREAS, the "Rum River Regional Fire" Study group applied for and received a grant for a feasibility study for shared or cooperative fire and emergency services; and WHEREAS, the feasibility study was completed and the results were presented to a meeting of the five city councils on June 26, 2013, and WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has reviewed the opportunities and issues identified in the feasibility study, and conclude that there appears to be opportunity to provide the same or better fire related services at a good value to all tax payers involved. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council hereby reaffirms the grant of Cross Access and Maintenance License Agreement to Ramsey JR Partners, LLC dated July 15, 2005.
