6. BOARD / STAFF INPUT
• Recycling Day Update
City Planner Anderson reported that the recycling event was held the previous Saturday and was
well attended, noting over 460 vehicles in four hours of time. He stated that he does not have the
information from the vendors as of yet but believed the event was very successful. He thanked
the Public Works Department for their assistance in the setup and cleanup of the event as well as
staffing the event.
• Work Plan
City Planner Anderson asked that the Board begin thinking about the Work Plan for the next year
and what the Board would like to focus on in the next 12 months. He noted that the composition
of a Work Plan would be drafted in June and presented to the Council later in June or July. He
confirmed that the EPB Work Plan runs from July to June each year.
• Other
Board Member Bentz questioned if there have been pictures of Alpine Park and the electric
corridors.
City Planner Anderson confirmed that staff is working to photograph the area.
Board Member Bentz stated that if GreenStep Cities moves forward there could be an exhibit at
the Expo. He advised that perhaps the soil study information could be presented at an exhibit as
well if Parks and Assistant Superintendent of Public Works Riverblood is not going to use that
information.
City Planner Anderson believed that the Park and Recreation Commission exhibit would likely
focus on parks and trails and therefore believed the Board would be able to use the soil study
information.
• Subcommittee Updates
Board Member Hiatt reported that Belinda Jenson will not be available for the date of the Expo
and advised that he and staff will continue to find a keynote speaker.
7. ADJOURNMENT
Motion by Board Member Lewis and seconded by Board Member Valentine to adjourn the
meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 7:57 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Environmental Policy Board / May 5, 2014
