Meeting Date: 11/12/2013 By: Colleen Lasher, Administrative Services Title Adopt Resolution #1 -11 -199 to Accept the City Administrator's Performance Evaluation Purpose /Background: The purpose of this case is to accept the City Administrator's annual performance evaluation. As part of the one year, 360 degree performance evaluation for the City Administrator, direct reports, members of the City Council, several Key Community Partners, and the City Administrator completed electronic performance evaluations. Subsequently, the results were compiled and the Mayor and City Administrator met to discuss the results of the evaluation. At the City Council meetings held October 15 and 29, 2013, the Council met in closed sessions to conduct an annual performance evaluation of City Administrator Kurt Ulrich, as required by his employment agreement. The sessions were closed pursuant to Minnesota Statutes § 13D.05, subdivision 3(a). After far - ranging and detailed discussions about the City Administrator position and the interactions of the Administrator with the Council, staff and public, the Council and Mr. Ulrich reviewed the duties, responsibilities, and expectations of the position and established goals of the Administrator in the following areas: • Community involvement • Leadership • Support of the Mayor and Council • Fiscal management • Council communications • Staff development The Council and City Administrator agreed to review progress toward the established goals in approximately six months. Observations/Alternatives: None. Funding Source: Not applicable.
