Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #14-08-159 <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING QUOTES AND AUTHORIZING AWARD OF <br />CONTRACT FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 14-29; ALPINE DRIVE WATERMAIN <br />IMPROVEMENTS <br />WHEREAS, the City has an opportunity to cost-effectively construct a looped <br />watermain connection between the existing trunk watermain stub under Alpine Drive, west of <br />Kryton Street, to the existing trunk watermain under Nowthen Boulevard/CSAH 5 in <br />coordination with improvements proposed by Anoka County at the intersection of Alpine Drive <br />and Nowthen Boulevard/CSAH 5; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to City Council approval on January 28, 2014, plans and <br />specifications were prepared to connect the existing trunk watermain terminating west of Kryton <br />Street under Alpine Drive to the exsting trunk watermain under Nowthen Boulevard/CSAH 5; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the plans and specifications were submitted to three contractors for the <br />purpose of obtaining quotes for completing the proposed watermain improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, quotes were received from two of the three contractors on July 29, 2014, <br />and were found to comply with the request for quotes; and <br />WHEREAS, the two quotes received are tabulated below; and <br />CONTRACTOR QUOTE <br />Dave Perkins Contracting, Inc. $78,175.00 <br />Reshetar Systems $82,000.00 <br />Engineer's Estimate $66,000.00 <br />WHEREAS, the quote of Dave Perkins Contracting, Inc. of Ramsey, Minnesota in the <br />amount of $78,175.00 for the total quote for the construction of said improvements in accordance <br />with the prepared plans and specifications is the lowest responsible quote and their quote shall be <br />and hereby is accepted. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br />The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with Dave Perkins Contracting, Inc. for the construction of said improvements <br />for and on behalf of the City of Ramsey. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />RESOLUTION #14-08-159 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
