This week they also cleaned up the Highway 47 sound wall and are in the process of spreading 100 cubic yards of mulch on various playgrounds in the City. Primary Election. The Primary Election was held on Tuesday, August 12, with polls opening at 7:00 a.m. and closing at 8:00 p.m. The overall average percentage of voter turnout for Anoka County was 11.27 %; Ramsey's overall average percentage was 13.69 %. The two candidates who received the most votes and will be on the General Election ballot for the At -Large Council seat are Wayne Buchholz with 34.47% of the votes and Kristine Williams with 40.69 %. There was a reporting issue following the close of the polls on Tuesday night. Anoka County's system went down so none of the precincts across the County were able to modem their results in. Plan B went into action and that was to have all the memory sticks from each machine delivered to Anoka County and they were able to modem in from there. Anoka County reported the next morning that all results were reported by 11:00 p.m., which was still ahead of many other metro counties. The County's IT Department thinks what happened was an isolated issue and they will make every effort to see that it does not happen again. The new AccuVote machines worked beautifully for the election — and hopefully for the General Election we will be able to experience how great they modem -in to the County as well©. Absentee Voting.
