Economic Development Manager LaFrance reported that CommonBond submitted an <br />application for funding through the Met Council's TOD fund. He stated that the City Council <br />will consider the Dollar General proposal on July 22n and construction is anticipated to begin in <br />2015. He stated that staff is working with Prospect Red to provide information to them on next <br />steps, including possible relocation to parcel #40. He stated that Prospect Cycle is looking for <br />70,000- 90,000 square feet and Councilmember Backous is working with CBRE to put together a <br />proposal. He reported that a local business is looking for 50,000 square feet and is looking to <br />move for efficiency purposes. He also reported that a local business has expressed interest in the <br />Health Quest property. He presented the Business Retention & Expansion Program update and <br />list of targeted visits. He stated that the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing this <br />evening on the Comprehensive Plan amendment for the Future Business Park. He reported that <br />staff received the final executed Purchase Agreement for Casey' s General Store and construction <br />will begin in 2015. He stated that Sign Zone has announced plans to move its business to <br />Brooklyn Center and staff will work on marketing the site. <br />Member Skaff requested further information about Lunch Box. <br />Economic Development Manager LaFrance stated the restaurant will include breakfast and <br />lunch, an expanded bakery, and a beer /wine component. He added that no City involvement was <br />requested. <br />Member Riley requested an update on Wiser Choice Liquor. <br />Economic Development Manager LaFrance stated that Wiser Choice Liquor is officially closed <br />and staff performed a final walkthrough of the trade fixtures purchased by the City on Tuesday <br />and the City will auction off the trade fixtures. He indicated no date has been set for demolition, <br />adding that the City has other properties scheduled for demolition and may combine the <br />demolition activities with one bid. He asked the EDA members to let him know if they are <br />interested in golfing in the Anoka Chamber's golf tournament on July 25 <br />6.
