Cityof Ramsey PHONE (612) 427-1410
FAX (612) 427-5543
15153 NOWTHEN BOULEVARD N.W., RAMSEY, MINNESOTA 55303 • TDD (612) 427-8591
April 18, 1994
Mr. Mark Nagel, City Manager
City of Anoka
2015 First Avenue North
Anoka, MN 55303-2270
Dear Mark,
As you know, Ramsey is in the midst of reviewing the land use and transportation elements of the
Comprehensive Plan. As part of this, we have been considering ways to achieve the transportation
link originally intended between Thurston Avenue and T.H. #47.
An option we are currently considering is realigning T.H. #47 in Ramsey to skirt the wetland just
west of the T.H. #47/C.R. #116 intersection.
I have highlighted the conceptual alignment on your draft Enterprise Park Land Use Plan. This
proposal appears to impact the Mineral Pond portion of the Anoka plan fairly significantly. It also,
of course, has some cost considerations. However, I would appreciate your consideration of the
above as perhaps positively impacting Anoka residential neighborhoods between U.S. #10 and
C.R. #116.
As an aside, you are aware, I believe, that Ramsey is pursuing an entrance sign construction
program. A part of this effort is proposed signage for business and industrial areas. I think we
should discuss the potential of joint ventures in this (and other) area once again.
I look forward to your reply.
Sincerely,
ITY OF EY
n R.Schroeder
City Administrator
RRS/jkl
cc: Sylvia Frolik, Zoning Administrator
Steve Jankowski, City Engineer
RLK Associates, Ltd.
Biko Associates
Planning Commission
