The Commission made revisions <br />to the alternatives and directed RLK and BIKO to incorporate the revisions into a finalized set <br />of alternatives for the May 19 Commission meeting. <br />Planning beyond the municipal boundaries was also discussed at the meeting. An analysis of <br />municipal powers of this type follows the discussion of the land use and transportation <br />alternatives. <br />A separate trail plan will be presented at the May 19 meeting. <br />LAND USE AND TRANSPORTATION CORRIDOR ALTERNATIVES <br />The following descriptions refer to Figures 1-7. The figures and descriptions incorporate <br />recommendations made by the Planning Commission and city staff The goal was to establish a <br />basic road alignment "skeleton" around which several land use scenarios would be constructed. <br />Figure 1: TH 47/Thurston Ave. <br />Thurston Avenue is proposed to be extended east while still located in the city of Anoka. A <br />new Thurston/CR 116 intersection would be built approximately 500 feet west of the existing <br />CR 116/TH 47 intersection.
