CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: 07/22/2014 <br />Submitted For: Patrick Brama, Administrative Services <br />By: Patrick Brama, Administrative Services <br />Information <br />4. 6. <br />Title <br />Authorize Contract for Professional Architectural Services with BKV Group for Fire Station 2 This Consent Case <br />was removed from the agenda. <br />Purpose/Background: <br />PURPOSE <br />The purpose of this case is to formally authorize a contract for professional services with BKV Group to Provide <br />Architectural Services for the new Fire Station #2. <br />STAFF NOTES: <br />This case was included in tonight's City Council Workession Agenda. For a detailed background, outline of Fire <br />Station #2 development process, information on funding, etc., please refer to the City Council Worksession case. <br />NOTE: the attached contract calls for the following services: <br />1. Final Design and Specifications <br />2. Bidding and Bid Award <br />3. Construction Administration <br />The next step in the development process for a new Fire Station #2 is Final Design & Specifications. If the Council <br />decides not to move forward with steps two and three (identified above) at some point in the future, the City is not <br />contractually obligated to conduct said work. The attached contract calls for payment of services based on percent <br />of completion (i.e. actual work provided). Steps two and three will require additional Council direction and <br />authorization, at a later date. <br />The contract being considered tonight with BKV Group is called a AIA Standard Form of Agreement Between <br />Owner and Architect. Staff is seeking Council approval of said contract contingent upon review and changes from <br />the City Attorney. <br />Notification: <br />NA <br />Observations/Alternatives: <br />For a detailed background, outline of Fire Station #2 development process, information on funding, etc., please <br />refer to the City Council Worksession case. <br />Funding Source: <br />
