<br />Councilmember LeTourneau introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #14-07-132 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT TO CONNEXUS ENERGY TO BURY <br />ELECTRIC SERVICE LINES FOR PROJECT NUMBER W1401355 <br /> <br /> <br /> Whereas <br />, the construction of a new interchange at Armstrong Boulevard and U.S. <br />Highway 10 is anticipated to begin as early as the fall of 2014; and, <br /> <br />Whereas <br />, the construction of the Armstrong Boulevard/U.S. Highway 10 interchange <br />will require relocation of existing Connexus Energy electric service lines; and, <br /> <br />Whereas <br />, the relocation of Connexus Energy electrical service lines is proposed along <br />Bunker Lake Boulevard, between Armstrong Boulevard and Puma Street; and, <br /> <br />Whereas <br />, the general region along Bunker Lake Boulevard, west of Armstrong <br />Boulevard and east of Puma Street is a largely undeveloped and un-platted; and, <br /> <br />Whereas <br />, the new, relocated, Connexus Energy electric service line will serve future <br />users along Bunker Lake Boulevard west of Armstrong Boulevard; and, <br /> <br /> Whereas <br />, the new, relocated, Connexus Energy electric service line will provide <br />redundant/back-feed service to The COR development region; and, <br /> <br /> Whereas <br />, in accordance with Connexus Energy policy and Franchise Agreement with the <br />City, the cost to construct above ground electrical service lines will be paid for Connexus <br />Energy; and, <br /> <br />Whereas <br />, in accordance with Connexus Energy policy and Franchise Agreement with the <br />City, the net increase in cost to bury new Connexus Energy electrical service lines is not the <br />responsibility of Connexus Energy; and, <br /> <br />Whereas <br />, a buried electric service line, in comparison to an above ground line, provides <br />a more aesthetically pleasing product for residents and business owners/prospects and is <br />consistent with recent development in the City of Ramsey; and, <br /> <br />Whereas <br />, the cost to bury electric service lines today, when combined with an existing <br />project, is 2.5-3.5 times lower in cost than burying electric service lines as an independent <br />project, at a later date <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA, STATE OF MINNESOTA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> <br />1) The City of Council of the City of Ramsey authorizes the City Administrator to make <br /> payments not-to-exceed $100,000 to Connexus Energy for project W1401355. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
