Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #14-08-161 <br />RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING SEPTEMBER 17 — 23, 2013 AS CONSTITUTION WEEK <br />WHEREAS, September 17, 2014, marks the two hundred twenty-seventh anniversary <br />of the drafting of the Constitution of the United States of America by the Constitutional <br />Convention; and <br />WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to accord official recognition to this magnificent <br />document and its memorable anniversary, and to the patriotic celebrations which will <br />commemorate the occasion; and <br />WHEREAS, Public Law 915 guarantees the issuing of a proclamation each year by the <br />President of the United States of America designating September 17 through 23 as Constitution <br />Week. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey hereby proclaims the week of September 17 <br />through 23, 2014, as CONSTITUTION WEEK. <br />2) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey asks its citizens to reaffirm the ideals of the <br />Framers of the Constitution by vigilantly protecting the freedoms guaranteed to us <br />through this guardian of our liberties, remembering that lost rights may never be gained. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in <br />favor thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this <br />the 26th day of August 2014. <br />Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />City Clerk <br />
