Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #14-08-161 RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING SEPTEMBER 17 — 23, 2013 AS CONSTITUTION WEEK WHEREAS, September 17, 2014, marks the two hundred twenty-seventh anniversary of the drafting of the Constitution of the United States of America by the Constitutional Convention; and WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to accord official recognition to this magnificent document and its memorable anniversary, and to the patriotic celebrations which will commemorate the occasion; and WHEREAS, Public Law 915 guarantees the issuing of a proclamation each year by the President of the United States of America designating September 17 through 23 as Constitution Week. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey hereby proclaims the week of September 17 through 23, 2014, as CONSTITUTION WEEK. 2) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey asks its citizens to reaffirm the ideals of the Framers of the Constitution by vigilantly protecting the freedoms guaranteed to us through this guardian of our liberties, remembering that lost rights may never be gained. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember , and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 26th day of August 2014.
