Regular Planning Commission
Meeting Date: 09/04/2014
By: Tim Gladhill, Community Development
Information
5. 4.
Title:
Receive Presentation on Potential Future PACT Charter School Expansion Located at 7250 E Ramsey Pkwy
Purpose/Background:
The purpose of this case is to provide PACT Charter School an opportunity to present to the Planning Commission
their desire to complete a facility expansion in the near future. The Planning Commission is asked to provide early
feedback on PACT's future expansion similar to a Sketch Plan Review for plats.
Notification:
Notification is not required for this informal, voluntary Concept Plan Review.
Observations/Alternatives:
The City has been approached by PACT Charter School to discuss future facility needs for this Kindergarten
through Grade 12 charter school. Please note that these are early, conceptual discussions. PACT desires to work
collaboratively with the City in the design of their expansion. The Planning Commission and PACT are reminded
that this discussion is not to be construed as providing any preliminary approvals which will require detailed
development review. The proposed expansion would add additional classroom and field house space, mainly on the
west end of the facility facing The Draw Park. A plan provided by PACT is included in the case.
Specifically, PACT is requesting Planning Commission feedback on the following:
1. Parking needs and availability
2. Appropriate green space and maximum impervious surface
Funding Source:
Preparation of this case is being handled as part of normal Staff duties.
Recommendation:
Staff believes that the questions raised by PACT regarding available parking and green space requirements can be
worked out appropriately from a Zoning Code perspective through early design coordination.
Action:
The Planning Commission is requested to provide feedback on the Concept Plan as it relates to parking needs and
impervious coverage (green space needs).
Site Location Map
Concept Plan
Attachments
Form Review
Inbox Reviewed By Date
Chris Anderson Chris Anderson 08/29/2014 12:28 PM
