Community Development Director Gladhill reported he would address this matter prior to the
Ordinance amendment proceeding to Council. He reiterated that the request before the
Commission was for the seasonal storage of boats on grass. He indicated the Ordinance could
state the seasonal boat storage would be allowed from September 1 S through May 31S
Commissioner Nosan supported the request with the proposed dates.
Commissioner Bauer agreed stating he did not want to see the applicant sacrifice additional green
space for the winter storage of boats. He suggested that the fencing requirement be waived as the
Skeeter Boat property was nice screened by trees.
Commissioner VanScoy supported the request but noted he had concerns with the conflicting
language within the proposed Ordinances as the H -1 zoning district was more restrictive than the
B -2 zoning district.
Community Development Director Gladhill commented the surfacing language was the only area
being proposed for amendment. He indicated that all other language was already in City Code
and was not being addressed this evening. He reported he could revise the H -1 code to read 30%
of the lot could be used for outdoor storage.
Chairperson Levine recommended that both zoning districts be allowed to have up to 30% of the
lot be used for outdoor storage. The Commission agreed.
Motion by Commissioner Bauer, seconded by Commissioner VanScoy, to close the public
hearing.
Motion Carried.
