Mayor Strommen agreed with the benefit of Assistant to the City Administrator Brama's <br />longevity and experience in this arena. However, she does not understand what the <br />Administrative Intern position involves and would ask why an external recruitment was not <br />being considered. <br />Human Resources Manager Lasher explained the current Administrative Intern has a Bachelor's <br />degree from St. Thomas. Because staff has been very impressed with her performance, staff is <br />reluctant to let her go. In addition, the Administrative Intern is already trained into this position <br />and Assistant to the City Administrator Brama relies on her work. If promoted, Assistant to the <br />City Administrator Brama would supervise that position. <br />Mayor Strommen clarified that she is not questioning q ifications but had found it was not <br />uncommon, from a fairness/equity perspective, to do an external recruitment.
