CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, October 14, <br />2003, at the Ramsey Fire Station Number I, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strormrten <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Community Development Director Sylvia Frolik <br />Assistant Director of Public Works Brian Olson <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 6:10 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There was llOlle. <br /> <br />TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Underbilled Utility Accounts <br /> <br />Finance Officer Lund presented the Council with a list of businesses that have been underbilled <br />and the amount that each business owes. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich reviewed City Code explaining the three alternatives for the City to <br />collect the funds, which were shut off water service, sue the businesses for a money judgment in <br />district court, or add the amount to the property tax levy. The first thing that needs to be done is <br />to get a letter out to the businesses explaining the error that occurred.
