HRA (Immediately Following CC - CC)
• Consider First Amendment to Purchase Agreement with PSD LLC dated August 06, 2014
Council Update
The Highway 10 Subcommittee. The Highway 10 Subcommittee (Strommen, LeTourneau,
Tossey, and City Administrator Ulrich) met with representative from the City of Anoka (two
Council Members and City Manager) and discussed how to move forward with the upgrade of
Highway 10. Anoka made it clear that they wanted to be a part of an alliance that would push for
the necessary upgrades, but that they were definitely opposed to the cost of the consultant contract
that was proposed. Staff from the two cities agreed to schedule a meeting in order to develop a
consistent list of mutual priorities that can be discussed with the County.
Building Security. In addition to security cameras and interior conference room doors being
locked during the day, staff will also be adding a front desk counter with access gates in the
Administration/Finance area. There has been a security /safety concern with allowing open access
to work areas, with confidential and sensitive information, during the day. The cost of the
improvement will be approximately $6,500 and will come from the building fund. Please let me
know if you have any concerns or would like to view the plans.
PW Activities. PW staff has been busy this week with several seasonal projects. The Street
Department has started fall sweeping and getting the future PW campus ready for the Fall
Recycling Event. Using the new location will give residents and staff more room to work on this
traditionally busy day. The new location is adjacent to the old site, so there is no need to notify
residents of the change. The Utility Department has been very busy with locates on the two large
road construction projects in town. Alpine Dr/Nowthen Blvd and the extension of Riverdale Dr
are both in full swing. The Park Department is busy with their usual activities, plus getting the
new Elmcrest Park building ready for the dedication on October 3rd!
In Person Absentee Voting.
