Councilmember Backous introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #14-08-163 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTIAL PAYMENT TO ALLIED BLACKTOP COMPANY FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 14-01; 2014 STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM – PHASE 2 WHEREAS, pursuant to a motion of the Ramsey City Council, adopted May 13, 2014, accepting plans and specifications and authorizing advertisement for bids for making the 2014 Street Maintenance Program Phase 2 improvements including the crack-sealing, sealcoating of streets, and other necessary appurtenant work; and WHEREAS, the bids of Allied Blacktop Co. in the amount of $138,999.04 for the total bid is the lowest responsible bidder; and WHEREAS, as of August 26, 2014 $0 has been paid to date; and WHEREAS, the Engineering Technician IV has inspected the completed work and recommends partial payment to Allied Blacktop Company in the amont of $136,945.52. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1)That the City Council hereby authorizes partial payment to Allied Blacktop Company for Improvement Project 14-01; 2014 Street Maintenance Program Phase 2 in the amount of $136,945.52. 2)That the City Council hereby accepts the project and authorizes the Mayor or City Administrator to sign the release form for this payment. 3)That the total amount of this payment is not included in resolutions approving payment of bills for the date of August 26, 2014. 4)That the City of Ramsey Finance Department will be provided a signed copy of this resolution. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Johns and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Strommen Councilmember Backous Councilmember Johns Councilmember Kuzma Councilmember LeTourneau Councilmember Tossey
