<br />Councilmember Kuzma introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #14-06-116 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 14-01; 2014 STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM PHASE 2 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> pursuant to a motion of the Ramsey City Council, adopted May 13, 2014, <br />accepting plans and specifications and authorizing advertisement for bids for making the 2014 <br />Street Maintenance Program Phase 2 improvements including the crack-sealing and sealcoating of <br />streets, and other necessary appurtenant work; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> one bid was received, opened, and tabulated on June 13, 2014, and the <br />following bid was found to comply with the advertisement for bids; and <br /> <br />CONTRACTOR BASE ALTERNATE TOTAL <br />BID BID BID <br />Allied Blacktop Company $111,730.24 $27,268.80 $138,999.04 <br />Engineer’s Estimate $127,000.00 $29,736.00 $156,736.00 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the bid of Allied Blacktop Company of Maple Grove, Minnesota in the <br />amount of $111,730.24 for the base bid, and in the amount of $27,268.80 for the alternate bid, for <br />the construction of said improvements in accordance with the approved plans and specifications <br />and advertisement for bids, is the lowest responsible bidder and their bids shall be and hereby are <br />accepted. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br /> <br />1)The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with said bidders for the construction of said improvements for and on behalf of <br />the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br /> <br />2)The City Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids at such time that a contract has been executed. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />LeTourneau and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Strommen <br />Councilmember Kuzma <br />Councilmember LeTourneau <br />Councilmember Riley <br />Councilemember Johns <br />Councilmember Tossey <br /> <br /> <br />
