PC CASE # <br /> <br />FIRE OFFICER SELECTIONS FOR YEAR 2004 <br /> By: Dean Kapler, Fire Chief <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Fire Department Officers group is made up of the following positions: <br /> Fire Chief <br /> Assistant Fire Chief (2) <br /> Captains (2) <br /> Lieutenants (2) <br /> Training Officer (1) <br /> <br />As in the past the paid-on-call command positions (Asst Chiefs, Captains and <br />Lieutenants) carry a 2 year term, with half the group available for application each year. <br />The Training Officer term is one year. This allows both opportunity for change while also <br />keeping a level of stability within the ranks. <br /> <br />For the officer term of 2004/2005 the following positions were open for application: <br /> Assistant Chief #2 <br /> Captain # 12 <br /> Lieutenant #2 <br /> Training Officer <br /> <br />Historically the Fire Chief has conducted applicant interviews and makes a <br />recommendation to the City Administrator for approval. These interviews were <br />completed the week of January 5, 2004. The Fire Chief conducted the interviews. The <br />following is a list of the recommendations of the Fire Chief, which the City <br />Administrator has approved.
