P.W. CASE #2 <br /> <br />CONSIDER ESTABLISH VISION CLEARANCE TRIANGLE INTO CITY CODE <br /> By: Steven J. Jankowski, City Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At the November 18, 2003 Public Works Committee meeting, staff presented information from a <br />number of communities relating to a vision clearance triangle. Such triangles are typically <br />included in City ordinances as a measure to enhance safety at street intersections. At that <br />meeting, it was apparent that the model from River Falls, Wisconsin was the most <br />comprehensive of the twelve policies reviewed. Attached is a ordinance based on the content <br />used in this model which has been drafted for inclusion into Section 9.11.01 of our City code. <br />This draft is being sent on to the City attorney and other departments for review and comments. <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend introduction of an ordinance amending Section 9.11.01 after review and <br />comment by the City Attorney, Community Development and the Police Department. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />Police Chief <br />Community Development Director <br />Street Maintenance Supervisor <br />City Attorney <br /> <br />PW: 01/20/04 <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br /> <br />
