Mr. Cook - I have done some studies with biologists on sites in
similar situations and I don't think I can give you an
affirmative answer. In similar areas where houses are developing
as fast as they are in your area, that has as much. of an impact
as these expansions will have on that. I think the south
expansion will have no impact on the wildlife; I~believe that
North area can be designed with a buffer area so that there will
be a shifting of the wildlife but there will be no appreciable
diminishment of it.

Mr. Fountain - My wife and I have talked with Mayor Gamec and
Councilmember Reimann and they suggested that we sell out to
Waste Management. I suggest to Mayor Gamec and Councilmember
Reimann that I will trade places with you and you sell out to
Waste Management. If we continue to operate like this, selling
our homes to Waste Management as a pacification or accepting the
$15,000,000 carrot that they are dangling in front of us, we
will eventually sell the whole City of Ramsey.

Ralph Smithers - 6560 153rd Lane NW - The noise and dust is a
real problem to say nothing about getting that dump 600' from
my back yard. The neighborhood fishing pond will be ruined.
The birds are a real problem too. Ronald Westphal had dug this
pond out to be enjoyed; the pond was there and he had it extended.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Commissioner Deemer and seconded by Commissioner Johnson
to adjourn this public hearing and take action on the application
for a Conditional Use Permit from Waste Management at the Planning
and Zoning Commission meeting scheduled for July 3, 1984 at
7:30 p.m. at Ramsey City. Hall.

Further Discussion: Chairman Peterson stated that the Planning
Commission will make a recommendation to Council regarding the
Conditional Use Permit application based on this public hearing,
findings of fact, etc.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Peterson, Commissioners
Deemer, Zimmerman, Hendriksen, Johnson. Voting No: None.
Absent: Commissioners LaDue and Kennen.

Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember
Reimann to adjourn this public hearing.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Reimann,
Van Wagner, Sorteberg and Schlueter. Voting No: None.

The public hearing adjourned at 11:45 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Secretary

Council/P & Z
Public Hearing
